Margaret Ellen Perrin, 83, resident of Courtyard Health Care Center of Goshen, Indiana, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Margaret was born on March 8, 1929 in Mishawaka, Indiana, the daughter of Lon C. and Mattie J. (Rogers) Wiseman. On June 12, 1949 she married Thirston E. Perrin in the First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, Indiana. They were married 63 years. Margaret is survived by her husband, Thirston; her daughter, Ruth P. (Miles) Freitag of Granger, Indiana; her son, Thomas E. (Raelene) Perrin of Goshen, Indiana; her daughter Janet E. (the late William R.) Taylor of Goshen, Indiana; and her daughter Carol E. (Juan) Alamo, of Goshen, Indiana. Also surviving are six grandchildren: LaRae Perrin, Lauren and Mark (Angelica) Freitag, Rebecca, Jessica and David Taylor and his fiancée Emily Watkins along with two great grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by two sisters-in-law; Rhoda A. (Perrin) Moriarty, Goshen and Joan (Smith) Perrin, Ligonier, as well as five nieces and four nephews. Margaret was born and raised in Mishawaka, Indiana by her mother and her aunt Elsie Rogers and was a graduate of Mishawaka High School, Class of 1948. She moved to Goshen upon her marriage where she worked as a teller for Salem Bank. After raising her four children, she worked as a bookkeeper for Dairy Farm Products until she was 70. She was a Past Regent of William Tuffs Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) and active in Al-Anon. She held local, district and state offices in both organizations. She was active in her church, First United Methodist Church, Goshen, taught Sunday School, sang in the Choir, and held many offices in the Women's Society. She also was active in the Friends of Goshen Public Library, and a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Lady Elks, and the Social Order of Beauceant. Margaret was an outgoing person who loved to sing and listen to music. She especially loved her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren and was involved in their activities while she was able. Viewing will be at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St, Goshen, Sunday December 9, 2012 from 2-6 p.m. The funeral will be held Monday December 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church Life Center, 1212 W. Plymouth Avenue, Goshen, Indiana with Pam Kling officiating. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church, Goshen, or donor's choice.
