Margaret L. Paff, 93, of Goshen, died Sunday evening, July 10, 2011, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. She had been ill since April. She was born on June 29, 1918, in Goshen, to the late Fred and Mary Ellen (Cripe) Smith. She married Richard Mehl Paff on March 24, 1940 in Goshen. He died August 20, 1977. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Sue (David) Yoder of Goshen; three sons, James R. Paff of Kokomo, and Denny R. (Yvonne) Paff and Fred R. (Karen) Paff, both of Goshen; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; a stillborn son, Stephen Robert; and a brother, Robert Smith. A 1936 graduate of Middlebury High School and Tobias Beauty School, South Bend, Mrs. Paff was a member of Plymouth United Church of Christ and Elkhart County Home Ec. Club. She retired in 1985 from Midwest Commerce Bank where she had worked as a switchboard operator and receptionist. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 13, at the funeral home. A 9:30 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2011, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Tony Paff, a nephew, will officiate. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to Plymouth United Church of Christ.
