Margaret Ann Conrad

Elkhart

Margaret Ann Conrad, 101, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Elkhart Place with the assistance of Caring Cove Hospice.

She was born July 26, 1922 in Millersburg to Oliver and Bertha (Baker) Baker.

On May 7, 1944, she married Allen C. Conrad.  He died March 4, 2007.

Survivors include a daughter, Margo (Richard) Barfell of Elkhart; two sons, Don A. (Diane) Conrad of Elkhart and Thomas L. (Nancy) Conrad of Goshen; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Thomas; two brothers, Otis and Raymond Baker; a great-grandson, Christopher Schultz; two nieces, Marilyn Castillo and Diane Brougham and a nephew Gregg Baker.

Mrs. Conrad was a member of First Baptist Church, Elkhart, where she was a member of Christian Lights Sunday School Class.  Along with her husband, she traveled extensively in the US, and made two trips to Jerusalem and one to England.  They wintered in Fort Myers, Florida, for 30 years and together they enjoyed collecting antiques, especially Depression Glass.

A big Larry Bird fan, Mrs. Conrad enjoyed all types of sporting events, especially those in the local community and the Chicago Cubs.

She was known for her stylish hats and she enjoyed making floral arrangements.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 2, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home followed by a 3 p.m. funeral service.

A private burial in Brown Cemetery will take place on Monday, June 3, 2024.

Memorial donations may be given to Elkhart Christian Academy.
