Marc Philip Braun, 32, of Cassopolis, Michigan, died Friday afternoon, March 9, 2012, at his home. He was born April 7, 1979 in Bellingham, Washington to Henry and Sara (Lehman) Braun. They survive along with fiancée Carrie Frey of Indianapolis; three brothers, Joseph (Kristen) Braun of Three Rivers, Michigan, Timothy (Alysha) Braun of Cassopolis, and Jeremy (Carli) Braun of Dalton, Ohio; and grandparents, Weldon and Betty Lehman. In addition, Kash, Kody, Scarlett and Milo, his dogs and cat, will remember him as a caring father. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Vera (Balsinger) Lehman, George J. Braun and Katherine H. (Bergen) Braun Langeman. Marc grew up in Elkhart County, graduating from Northridge High School in 1997 and Purdue University in Engineering Technology Education and Aviation Flight Technology. He was a master teacher with Project Lead The Way and an RET (Research Experiences for Teachers) for Wisdom Tools. He taught Technology Education for three years each at Jasper High School and Brownsburg High School. Most recently he taught Industrial Technology at Northwood High School. Over the years of teaching, he was mentor for FIRST Robotics. Marc loved to fly and teach others how to fly. He had a multi-engine commercial pilot's license with certification as a flight instructor. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Jasper. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 16, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, and 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Eighth Street Mennonite Church, Goshen, where a 3 p.m. funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Nina Lanctot will officiate. Burial will follow in Little Pine Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marc Braun Memorial Fund for Student Assistance, c/o Interra Credit Union.
