M. Scott Sanchez

M. Scott Sanchez, 55,of New Paris, died Friday, February 21, 2025 after a 3 year battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born September 28, 1969 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Michael Ramon Sanchez-Viñas and Penny (Scott) Sanchez.

On August 10, 1996 he married Michelle Hollar in Goshen.

Survivors include his mother, Penny Sanchez of Madison; his wife, Michelle Sanchez; three children, Grant Sanchez of Indianapolis, Morgan (Mason) Jones of Syracuse and Brooke Sanchez of New Paris; a granddaughter, Mallory Jones; and a sister Michelle E. Sanchez of Madison.

He was preceded in death by his father and his maternal grandparents, E. Perin Scott and Betty Quinn Scott.

Scott grew up in Madison, Indiana, he graduated from Madison Consolidated High School. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Education from Taylor University. He played football in both high school & college and was a football coach. He served as a football and baseball official and was a two time state baseball umpire. He was a member of the Northern Indiana Officials Association.

During his working career he was a teacher, later on he was a home sales consultant for Granite Ridge Builders.

He supported his children by attending their extracurricular activities. He enjoyed golfing and biking. He collected and sold sporting cards.

He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughter, Mallory.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at Grace Community Church and Wednesday, February 26 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service, also at the church.

Burial will follow at New Paris Cemetery.
