M. Dwight Miller, 84, died Thursday night, March 24, 2011 at his home, after an extended illness. He was born on May 31, 1926 in Millersburg, Ohio to the late Milferd and Florence (Kauffman) Miller. He then grew up in Gulfport, Mississippi. He has lived in the area since 1948. He married Rachel M. Keim on November 4, 1950 at Forks Mennonite Church, Middlebury, she survives. Mr. Miller worked for Hoffman Brothers Auto Parts which he retired from in 2000. He then worked at Spring Meadow Golf Course, Middlebury, for eight years. He is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Ron) White, South Bend, Karen (Wes) Higginbotham, Goshen; two sons, David (Sharon) Miller, Goshen, Curtis Miller, LaGrange; two sisters, Edna Moran, Sue Williams, both of Gulfport Mississippi; one brother, Frank Miller, Middlebury; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by one sister, Elsie Merchant; and three brothers, Mark, Ben "Benny," and Willis Miller. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2011 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, March 29, at Walnut Hill Mennonite Church, Goshen. Pastor Jane Stoltzfus Buller and Pastor Randy Miller will officiate. A private family burial will be in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to Mennonite Central Committee or Care at Home Hospice.
