Lynn D. Lynch

July 10, 1957 — August 11, 2011

Lynn D. Lynch, 54, of Goshen, died early Thursday morning, August 11, 2011, at IU Health Goshen Hospital. He was born July 10, 1957 in Goshen to the late Duane and Marjorie (Leamon) Lynch. On October 5, 1996 he married Jane M. Hile. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Craig and Taylor Lynch, both of Elkhart; two step-daughters, Abby (Jim) O'Grady of Goshen and Jessie (Tim) Mabry of Sturgis, Michigan; two step-sons, Andrew Berkey of Goshen and Michael Berkey of Elkhart; nine grandchildren; a sister, Debra (John) Cybulski of Goshen; and a brother, Michael Lynch of Elkhart. A 1975 graduate of Goshen High School, he served four years with the U.S. Navy as a cook aboard ship with three tours in the Mediterranean and one tour in the north Atlantic. He enjoyed freshwater fishing, camping, and deer hunting. He was fond of his golden retrievers "Chance" and "Peyton", his "boys". He worked many years as a cook at Rikki's Restaurant on South Main Street and a couple of years at the County Seat on South Third Street, Goshen. He also cooked at Plain and Fancy Restaurant early in his career. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 14 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held Monday, August 15, 2011, at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen, with military honors by the Goshen Veterans' organizations.
