Lynette passed away in her home in Goshen at dawn on Monday, May 2, 2016.
She was born on December 3, 1957, to John and Miriam Beachy in Ranchi, Bihar, India. She attended Woodstock School in Mussoorie, India till 7th grade. Her homes away from India were in Goshen, and Scottdale, Pennsylvania. She graduated in 1976 at Eastern Mennonite High School in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
She married Leon Bauman at the Scottdale Mennonite Church in 1979. They lived previously in Telford, Pennsylvania, Mussoorie, India, and in 1989, settled in Goshen.
Lynette worked at Walnut Hill Early Childhood Center and at the Goshen Public Library. She had many skills and passions, including music, reading (fantasy, mysteries, science fiction, and all kinds of non-fiction), growing house plants, gardening, furniture reupholstering, loving dogs (cocker spaniels), book mending, coloring mandalas, and spiritual growth. She was an avid self-learner, a mystic, and highly valued the intuitive within her.
Surviving are her husband, Leon, two daughters, Bethany (Gabe Bauman Baker) of Three Rivers, Michigan, and Anjuli (Zachary Sears) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, a grandson and a second on the way, two brothers, John A. of DeKalb, Illinois and Kenton (Rhonda) of London, Ohio, and a sister, Cheryl (David Paulovich) of Phoenix, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Miriam Beachy, for whom Lynette lovingly provided end of life care.
Friends may call Friday, May 6, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
A memorial service will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Assembly Mennonite Church, Goshen. Pastor Dawn Yoder Harms will officiate.
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
