Lurene Mullins

Lurene Mullins, 78, of Sebring, Florida, formerly of Shipshewana, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at her home. She was born August 12, 1937 in Jolo, West Virginia to Dave and Mary (Pruitt) Kennedy. She is survived by a daughter, Mary (Chris) Tubbs of Sebring, Florida; a son, Grevil J. "Gene" (Doris) Hagerman of Virginia; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, two of whom she adopted, Ariel and Dakota Mullins; three great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Barbara Lopez of Goshen, Helen Cole of White Mountain, Virginia, Daisy Kennedy of Three Forks, West Virginia and Lucy Hatfield of Sweetwater, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, Grevil Lewis Hagerman and Preston Mullins; four daughters, infant Brenda Kay Hagerman, Ruby "Louise" Rose, Jolene Evans and Kathy Hern; a sister, Alice Blakely and two brothers, James and Virgil Kennedy. Mrs. Mullins worked at Steury Boats, New Paris and Glass Tech, Middlebury before moving to Florida in July 2012. Friends may call Monday, August 17, 2015 from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Pirtle, Riverview General Baptist Church, Elkhart, will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
