Lura M. Hoover

Lura M. Hoover, 92, of Goshen died Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Greencroft Healthcare.

She was born August 27, 1926 in Andrews to Russel A. and Marie (Wirt) Sherman.

On June 16, 1945 she married Raymond Hoover in New Paris.  He died August 17, 2012.

Survivors include a daughter, Beth (Fred) Clauser of Berne; a daughter-in-law, Lynn Hoover of Detroit, Michigan; a son, John (Cindy) Hoover of Atlanta, Georgia; 12 grandchildren; and a brother, Marvin Sherman of Indianapolis.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry D. Hoover and grandson, Nathanial.

Mrs. Hoover was a long-time educator, teaching at Milford Elementary and volunteering in the Highland County Schools in Florida after her retirement.

She was a member of the Goshen City Church of the Brethren and the Retired Teachers Association.

Friends may call Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.  A 10 a.m. funeral service will be conducted Monday, November 19, 2018 at Goshen City Church of the Brethren, 203 N. 5th St., Goshen. Pastor Bev Weaver will officiate.

Burial will follow at Whitehead Cemetery, New Paris.
