LuEtta K. Neumann, 89 of Goshen died Monday morning, July 4, 2016 at Greencroft Gables.
She was born February 10, 1927 in Hopedale, Illinois to Eldon and Sadie (Sutter) Nafziger.
On September 4, 1948 she married Roger Neumann in Hopedale.
He survives along with a son, Ted (Dana) Neumann of South Bend; two daughters, Paula (Jim) Ream of Indianapolis and Joy (Douglas) Landis of Mason, Michigan; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Pauline Springer and a brother, Eldon Dean Nafziger.
A member of Hopedale Mennonite Church, LuEtta was an active Sunday school and Bible school teacher, serving as superintendant for many years. She also was a Girl Scout leader for more than 20 years; served on the Delavan library board; was a member of the Tazewell County and Illinois State Medical Auxiliary and Delavan Women’s Club.
The arts were an important part of her life. She painted with oils and most recently enjoyed singing with the First Presbyterian Church choir while wintering in Naples, Florida, and with the Evergreen Singers at Greencroft when in Goshen. She also volunteered at medical facilities in Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen and Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home, 121 W. Third St., Delavan, IL 61734.
An 11 a.m. funeral will be conducted Friday, July 8, 2016 at Hopedale Mennonite Church, 5192 Hopedale Rd., Hopedale, IL 61747.
Burial will follow at Hopedale Mennonite Cemetery, Hopedale, Illinois.
Memorial gifts may be directed to Goshen College or Mennonite Central Committee.
