Lucille Yvonne Blue

Lucille Y. Blue, 87, of Goshen, died at 3:45 p.m. at Waterford Crossing on June 10, 2025.

She was born May 18, 1938 in Topeka to Daniel E and Magdalene (Bontrager) Yoder.

On August 31, 1958 she married Ernest P. Blue, Jr. in Goshen. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1998.

Lucille lived most of her life in Topeka. She worked for Farmers State Bank for 22 years before retiring in 2006. She moved to Goshen after retirement.

Lucille was an active member of Topeka Mennonite Church. Later, after moving to Goshen, she attended Pleasant View Church in Goshen.

Surviving is her son, Jeff (Cyndee) Blue, Middlebury, Margie (Bill) Headings, Goshen, and Anita (Joel) Hosford, Albion. She was the beloved grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents and nine siblings. Two brothers, John Yoder and Orva Yoder, and seven sisters Katherine Miller, Ida Yoder, Maggie Yoder, Ruby Wyse, Elma Eichorn Stauffer, Alta Yoder, and Mary Bontrager.

Lucille was known to her family as a wonderful hostess and cooked many family dinners. She was known especially for her pie making skills and strawberry jam. She faithfully attended many athletic events for all her grandchildren.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2025 at Yoder Culp Funeral Home.

A private burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Topeka IN.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21 at Pleasant View Church.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Goshen Hospice, and particularly the compassionate team at Waterford Crossing, for their unwavering care and support during Lucille’s final journey.

We also wish to express our heartfelt thanks to Pastor Mark Snyder for his comforting words, spiritual guidance, and prayers. His presence brought peace and solace when it was most needed.
