Lucile M. Farrand, 97, of Goshen, died Thursday evening, December 20, 2007, at Goshen General Hospital after a short illness. She was born on May 22, 1910 in Waukomis, Oklahoma to Charles and Mabel (Klingaman) Lovell.  She married Stephen Farrand on August 8, 1928 in Warsaw.  He died July 9, 1969.  Then she married Edward D. Farrand on May 12, 1979, in Goshen.  He died September 8, 1998. Mrs. Farrand was the oldest member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.  A homemaker, she also attended Topeka United Methodist Church.  She graduated from Millersburg High School in 1928. Mrs. Farrand is survived by a daughter, Caroline Smith of Goshen; a son, Lowell (Gaylia) Farrand of Ligonier; seven grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret (Clayton) Carmer of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands; a grandson, Stephen Farrand; two sisters, Marie Farrand and Mildred Tepfer; and two brothers, Paul and Ora Lovell. Friends may call 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, December 23, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. A funeral service is set for 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 24, 2007, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Goshen.  Rev. Tim Terrell will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
