Loyal K. Loucks, 91, of Goshen, died unexpectedly early Sunday morning, May 15, 2011, at his home. He was born July 18, 1919 in Harrison Township, Elkhart County, to the late John W. and Susie (Roose) Loucks. He married Beverley A. Rapp on July 17, 1949, in Dunlap. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Ginger K. Loucks of Goshen; a son, Robin R. (Joyce) Loucks of Syracuse; a granddaughter, Alicia Loucks of Washington D.C.; a grandson, Chad (Rachel) Loucks of LaPorte; and a sister, Hazel Weaver of Goshen. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marian Grace Morehouse. A lifelong area resident, Mr. Loucks owned and operated Sunset Mobile Homes. He later worked for Arco Engineering until his retirement. He was a member of New Paris Missionary Church and a 25 year volunteer of the Harrison Township Fire Department. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 16, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at the New Paris Missionary Church where a 10:30 a.m., funeral service will be conducted. Pastor David Hackney and Rev. Chad Loucks, grandson, will officiate. At a later date, after cremation, burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery, Goshen.
