Lowell L. Stine

Lowell L. Stine, 88, of Goshen, passed away peacefully at home with family Friday, June 1, 2018.

He was born August 25, 1929 in Bremen to Owen C. and Gladys (Abiehl) Stine.

On May 11, 1951 he married Mary Lou Dutoi in Bremen.

She survives along with two children, Lon (Pamela) Stine of Bristol and Susan Stine of Goshen; two grandsons, Christopher (Amy) Stine of Bremen, and David (Amy) Stine of Elkhart; a step-granddaughter, Melissa Jaronik of Michigan City; and five great-grandchildren, Brenna, Owen, Gavin, Addison and Nathan.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Otho, Dale and Owen “Junior” Stine and three sisters, Helen Stine, Daisy Mae Hollar and Luella Chrisman.

A 1948 graduate of Bremen High School, Mr. Stine served during the Korean War with the U.S. Army from 1950-1957.

He worked for Trunkline Gas Company as the metering station manager.  Following his retirement he worked for Art Stauffer Construction and Quality Glass Service.  He wintered in Fort Myers, Florida for 25 years.  He enjoyed woodworking and watching Indiana University basketball and Chicago Cubs baseball.

The family expresses a special thanks to Goshen Hospital, Goshen Hospice and Compassionate Caregivers.

Friends may call Tuesday, June 5, 2018, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and an hour prior to the 10 a.m., funeral service on Wednesday, June 6.  Pastors Ed and Brenda Fritz of First United Methodist Church will officiate.

Cremation will follow the service and burial will be at a later date in Bremen Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church or Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
