Lowell A. Holdread, 86, of Goshen died Friday, March 29, 2019 at Courtyard Healthcare.
He was born January 31, 1933 in Goshen to Roland and Charlotte (Fenton) Holdread.
On October 7, 1956 he married Amy L. Moreland at St. Marks United Methodist Church, Goshen. She died May 13, 2003.
Survivors include a daughter, Nanette (Jack) Forrest of Woodburn; a son, Jeffrey (Regina) Holdread of Goshen; two grandsons, Trent Forrest and Trevor (Rachel) Forrest; and a great-granddaughter, Eva Forrest.
Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Terry Fenton.
A 1951 Goshen High School graduate, Mr. Holdread worked for the Elkhart County Highway Department as a heavy machinery operator, retiring in 1995 after 42 years of employment.
Lowell volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a Red Coat at Goshen Hospital for 15 years. He attended 1 st United Methodist Church, Goshen and was a former member of the Goshen Moose. He enjoyed fishing, biking and helping people.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral service, all at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Pastor Ed Fritz, 1 st United Methodist Church, Goshen will officiate.
Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
