Lowell W. Defrees, 86, of Goshen died Monday night, March 21, 2016 at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born October 3, 1929 in Goshen to Carl and Freda A. (Yoder) Defrees.
On July 15, 1950 he married Phyllis Marlene Carter. She died July 15, 2013.
Survivors include a son, Rick Defrees of Salem, Oregon; two daughters, Marcie (Randi) VanderMolen of Millersburg and Kristy (Gary) Web of Killeen, Texas; three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two great granddaughters; three step great grandchildren; a brother, David (Vivian) Defrees of Fishers; and a sister, Betty (George) Myers of Elkhart.
A 1948 graduate of Goshen High School, Lowell was a member of the New Paris Church of the Brethren. He was a 45 year Elkhart Township Fire Department volunteer and dedicated blood donor for the American Red Cross. He worked as a route manager at Coca-Cola for 25 years and for 20 years at Universal before retiring in1995.
Private family services will take place with burial following at Violett Cemetery.
