Lowell “Gene” Davis, Sr., 70, of Goshen, died Friday, September 1, 2017 at Goshen Hospital after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born December 20, 1946 in Goshen to Ralph and Mary E. (Hurdick) Davis.
On July 12, 2003 he married Gail (Chokey) Wheeler.
She survives along with two daughters, Laura (Matt) Downs and Tracey Davis, both of Goshen; a son, Lowell Davis, Jr. of Goshen; a step-daughter, Christina (Thomas) Looney of New Paris; three step-sons, Nelson, E. Moreland and Tracy L. (Beckey) Moreland, both of Goshen and Timothy S. (Angie) Moreland of Crown City, Ohio; 32 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Betty Kidd, Goshen and Shirley Richard, Angola.
Mr. Davis was a member of the Goshen V.F.W. where he served with the honor guard and the North Webster American Legion.
He worked for Goshen Sash and Door for 25 years and Homecrest for six years.
Friends may call Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the 10 a.m., Wednesday funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Troy Scott, Lifepoint Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in West Goshen Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the church or the Goshen V.F.W.
