Lowell R. Baumgartner, 68, of Goshen died Thursday, December 3, 2015 at IU Health Goshen Hospital.
He was born January 23, 1947 in Waltham, Minnesota to Walter H., Sr. and Harriett (Gifford) Baumgartner.
On September 21, 1986 he married Sharon Bontrager in Elkhart. She died February 28, 2010.
Survivors include a stepson, Tom Roberts of Goshen; a stepdaughter, Penny Russell of Union, Michigan; three daughters, Renee Lane, Carla Brantley and Carrie Baumgartner; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and 10 siblings, Bernice (Quentin) Goskesen of Austin, Minnesota, Laverne Baumgartner of Los Angeles, Eleanor Grass of Grass Valley, California, Arlene (Peter) Olson of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, Judy (Eugene) Ziese of Owatonna, Minnesota, Cheryl (Kenneth) Stevensen of Pine Island, Minnesota, Arla (Larry) Rasmussen of West Concord, Minnesota, Ardella (Tim) Chladek of Roshester, Minnesota, Darrell Baumgartner of Owatonna, Minnesota and Emerson (Lois) Baumgartner of Austin, Minnesota.
Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marlys Baumgartner and three brothers, Lanny, Walter Jr., and Willard Baumgartner.
Lowell worked in the RV manufacturing industry before retirement. He enjoyed working with wood, making projects for the yard and his family, working on cars and watching auto racing.
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
