Lovina Stutzman

Lovina Stutzman, 93, of New Paris, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026.

She was born October 9, 1932, in Thomas, Oklahoma, to Benjamin Thomas and Lovina (Mullet) Thomas.

She was united in marriage to Amos J. Stutzman on December 12, 1951, in Thomas, Oklahoma. Together they built a home centered on faith, family, and simple living for 70 years. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2022.

She is survived by four daughters, Thelma (Mark) Smothers of Centerville, Iowa, Betty Schrock of Paden, Oklahoma, Kaylene (Chad) Yutzy of New Paris, Indiana, and Louella (Tony) Plett of Sarasota, Florida; eight grandchildren, Shawn (Michele) Smothers, Weston (Carla) Yoder, Layton (Kristin) Yoder, Carlton (Chea) Yoder, Sonya (Davis) Bontrager, Brant Plett, Amos Plett, and Brianna Plett; 11 great-grandchildren; a loving Caregiver, Frieda Yoder; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Along with her parents and her husband, Amos J. Stutzman, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Naleta Joy Yoder and Leah Lovina Schrock; a son-in-law, Andy Schrock; four brothers, Peter (Faye), Martin (Barbara Ann), Benjamin (Dee), and Ira (Susie) Thomas; and three sisters, Miriam (Willis) Miller, Katie (Andy) Bontrager and Amanda (Levi) Stutzman.

Lovina was a homemaker and faithfully cared for her family and home throughout her life. Her life reflected the quiet devotion, humility, and strong faith that guided her daily living. She was a member of Bethel Conservative Mennonite Church.

Friends may call Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. at Bethel Conservative Mennonite Church, 25402 C.R. 50, Nappanee.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11 also at the church.

Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
