Lovell "Buzz" Clarence Burdette

Lovell "Buzz" Clarence Burdette, 93, of Goshen, died at his home early Sunday afternoon, December 25, 2011. He was born April 13, 1918 in Blakeley, West Virginia to the late Clarence Floyd and Neola (Tucker) Burdette. He married Eva M. Rider December 31, 1941 in Blakeley. She died May 4, 2000. He is survived by a daughter, Karen (Gene) Meade of Goshen; three sons, Ronald D. (Carolyn) Burdette and Larry V. (Doris) Burdette, both of Goshen, and Kerry S. (Ginger) Burdette of Milford; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Lovell "Jack" Wayne Burdette in 1964; a brother; and four sisters. A Goshen resident since 1964, Mr. Burdette worked at Western Rubber for 18 years before retiring in 1982. He served with the 10th Armored Division of the US Army in France and Germany during World War II. He received a bronze star for his service. Friends may call from 9 to 9:45 a.m., Wednesday, December 28, 201, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 9:45 a.m. procession will go to Violett Cemetery for a military graveside service conducted by the Goshen Veterans' Honor Guard.
