Louise Martha Hay, 86, of Goshen, died Sunday afternoon, November 12, 2006, at Valley View Health Care, Elkhart, where she was admitted in January. She was born on October 7, 1920, in Fenwood, Wisconsin, to Paul and Clara (Weismann) Bachman. She married Lemuel J. Hay on May 5, 1940, in Sturgis, Michigan. He passed away on December 16, 1989. A 1938 graduate of Concord High School, Mrs. Hay had been a member of the United Church of Christ in Goshen since 1946, where she belonged to the Women’s guild. She worked for CTS in Elkhart for 25 years before retiring in 1982. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. Mrs. Hay is survived by a daughter, Sue Ann (Clarence) Moseng of Elkhart, Indiana; two sons, James Hay of Goshen and Jerry (Charlene) Hay of Elkhart; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. Also surviving are two brothers, Harold (Geneva) Bachman of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Elmer (Loretta) Bachman of Elkhart; a sister, Whilemena Beber of Elkhart; and a sister-in-law, Doris Bachman of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, William and Donald Bachman. Friends will be received 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 15, before the 11:00 a.m. funeral service, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Richardson of the Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church will officiate. Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to the Gideons or to the United Church of Christ, Goshen.
