Loretta Troyer, 89, of Goshen, died Wednesday evening, February 2, 2011 at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born in Elida, Ohio, on December 19, 1921 to the late Eli E. and Rebecca (Good) Troyer. A graduate of Elida High School and Lima Memorial School of Nursing, she earned a B.S. in Nursing from Goshen College, and did advanced studies at John’s Hopkins Hospital. She was a surgical nurse, a surgery supervisor and a nursing instructor for many years. She is survived by her sister, Mary Ann (Fred Brancel) Litwiller of Madison, Wisconsin, and nieces and nephews: Stan Kaufman, Marilyn (Bill) Brown, Nelson (Gabriela) Litwiller, Juan (Marisa) Litwiller, and Anne Marie (Mark) Streeter, and 15 great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Laura and Barbara Troyer and Beulah (Paul) Kaufman; a brother-in-law, John Litwiller and a niece, Linda Kaufman. Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 am, Saturday, February 12, 2011, at the Meetinghouse on the Greencroft campus where an 11 a.m., memorial service will be conducted. Rev. June Alliman Yoder will officiate. Burial at Pike Mennonite Church Cemetery, Elida, Ohio, will be on Sunday, February, 13, 2011 at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Glenn Rader officiating. Memorials made to given to Mennonite Central Committee or Mennonite Mission Network. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, is assisting with arrangements.
