Lonnie A. Clem

Lonnie A. Clem, 59, of Syracuse, died Wednesday afternoon, February 8, 2006, at his home.  He had been diagnosed with cancer last July.   He was born October 1, 1946, in Goshen, to Daniel and Edna L. (Bonewitz) Clem.  On July 1, 1967, in Goshen, he married Patricia E. Cramer.    A 1964 graduate of New Paris High School, he was a Regional Sales Manager for AmeriKan Division of Stoutco.  He had also worked for Leland Engineering in White Pigeon, Northland Engineering in Bristol and Dexter Axel of Elkhart.   Mr. Clem was a longtime Dewart Lake water sport enthusiast, and enjoyed snow skiing and snowmobiling.  He was a member of Dewart Skiers and the Eagles Lodge in Syracuse.  He was a NASCAR enthusiast and an avid fan of Notre Dame football and IU basketball.   He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his parents, Daniel and Edna Clem; three daughters, Shantelle (Randy) Rock and Tiffany (Rob) Horton, both of Goshen, and Nicole (Jeremy) Miller of Dewart Lake; and six grandchildren.  He is also survived by a sister, Sharon (Steve) Krause of Fort Wayne; and two brothers, Jim Clem of Tampa, Florida and Kenny (Wanda) Clem of Wakarusa.   He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey A. Clem in 1969 and a brother, Captain Thomas Clem, a US Marine pilot, shot down in action over South Vietnam, in 1968.   Friends may call 2 to 8 p.m., Saturday, February 11, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.   A 3 p.m. service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, February 12, 2006.  Rev. Jack Barthel of the Wawasee Community Bible Church will officiate.   Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or to the Center of Hospice and Palliative Care, Elkhart.
