Lois J. Miller

Lois J. Miller, 84, died Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Goshen General Hospital, where she had been a patient for one week.  She was born on January 7, 1927, in Goshen, IN to the late Merrill Valentine and Myrtle Elizabeth (Ulrich) Cripe. Mrs. Miller assisted her husband William, in operating Bill’s Heating and Cooling, since its founding in 1951.  She served as a receptionist, bookkeeper, and treasurer, she retired in 1983, after working for 32 years.  She graduated from Goshen High School in 1945, and was a member of the First Brethren Church, New Paris.  She enjoyed being outdoors, was always active in vegetable gardening, and took great pleasure in RV camping, especially while being in Florida.  She took great pride in her four sons and their families, Mrs. Miller was firm in her Christian faith and was often heard saying, “the Lord willing.”  She is survived by four sons, Douglas L. (Peggy) Miller, Gregg A. (Vicki) Miller, Jerry R. (Theresa) Miller, all of Goshen, Terry M. (Charlotte) Miller, Elkhart; one brother, Harold (Sherry) Cripe, Goshen, eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.  Friends may call from 4:30-7 p.m., Sunday, February 13, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, a funeral service will follow at 7 p.m.  Pastor Ted Schowengerdt of First Brethren Church, New Paris is officiating.  Family and friends will gather at West Goshen Cemetery at 10 a.m., Monday, February 14, for a committal service.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Brethren Church of New Paris, or Gideons.
