Lois Eileen Hunsberger, 67, of Goshen, died during her sleep on Thursday, July 26, 2007. She was born in Goshen, on November 17, 1939, to Virgil Vernon and Mary Elizabeth (Bloss) Dowty. She married Rodger M. Hunsberger on May 12, 1984. He survives. A lifelong Goshen resident, Mrs. Hunsberger, was a member of Silverwood Mennonite Church where she was involved in Women in Mission and played the piano. She started working at Farm Bureau Credit Union in 1989 and was a loan processor. For five years she was church secretary at College Mennonite Church. She had also worked as an engineering secretary at Liberty Homes. Mrs. Hunsberger, a New Paris High School graduate, collected Longaberger baskets and family cookbooks. She enjoyed baking, cooking, camping and flowers. She is survived by her husband, Rodger; two daughters, Laurie (Scott) Hines of Three Rivers, Michigan and Suzette (Brian) Pletcher of Osceola; three sons, Dennis J. Weldy, Douglas (Carrie) Weldy and Chad (Stepanie) Weldy, all of Goshen; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ellen Stump of Goshen; and two brothers, Dean Dowty of Syracuse and Vernon (Jean) Dowty of Ossian, Indiana. She was preceded in death by a sister, Cheri Gall. Friends will be received 1 to 6 p.m., Sunday, July 29, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. A 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 30, 2007, funeral service will be conducted at Silverwood Mennonite Church, Goshen. Pastor Gary Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to Silverwood Mennonite Church, Women in Mission or Elkhart County 4-H Program.
