Lois J. Hostetter

October 24, 1936 — February 6, 2017

Lois J. Hostetter, 80, of Nappanee, died Monday evening, February 6, 2017 at the home of her daughter.

She was born October 24, 1936 in Milford to George and Ruth (Fisher) Fox.

On December 23, 1956 she married David N. Hostetter in Nappanee.  He died March 23, 2013.

She is survived by a son, David (Sue) Hostetter of Nappanee; two daughters, Jill (Gerry Neff) Slabaugh of Nappanee and Amy Jo (Lyn) Chupp of Goshen; four grandchildren, Anthony Slabaugh of Goshen, Phil (Amber) Hostetter, Amy Jo Zook and Matt Hostetter, all of Nappanee; and three great-grandchildren, Taylor Slabaugh, Caden and Ethan Zook.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Lois was a 1954 graduate of Milford High School and member of First Mennonite Church, Nappanee.  She worked as a secretary for Vitreous Steel in Nappanee before managing the Hollander Motel for 13 years.  She later worked at Wakarusa Elementary as a teacher’s aide before retiring with her husband and living at Stone Lake.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 1 p.m. for family and extended family at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.

Burial will take place at South Union Cemetery, Nappanee.

Memorial gifts may be directed to First Mennonite Church, Nappanee.
