Lois Fern Honderich, 101, of Goshen, died early Wednesday morning, January 1, 2014, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. She had been in declining health. She was born May 6, 1912 in Goshen to Daniel and Ida (Zook) Honderich. She is survived by nine nieces and nephews, Gretchen (CJ) Yoder, Nevin (Judy) Honderich, Martin (Carol) Honderich, Rachel (Lou) Wilcox and Ron (Rosemary) Gardner, all of Goshen, Ann (Mark) Beyers, of Illinois, Norman (Mary J.) Yoder, of Elkhart, Vicki (Norman) Lichti, of Kansas, Brenda (Scott) Smith, of Milford; a niece by marriage, Karen Honderich; 21 great-nieces and nephews; and 30 great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Gladys Yoder and Evelyn Gardner; a brother, Glen Honderich; a nephew, David Honderich; a great-nephew; and a great-niece. A member of Clinton Brick Mennonite Church, Lois helped on the family farm and in later years worked at Greencroft. The work of Lois' hands have blessed many over the years with; quilting, baking, childcare, writing Christmas checks, and pitching in wherever an extra hand was needed - all given in a spirit of generosity and love. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the 12, noon, funeral service on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Clinton Brick Mennonite Church, 62499 SR 13, Goshen. Burial will follow at Clinton Brick Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to Clinton Brick Mennonite Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
