Lois Ann Hartman, 78, of Goshen, died Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Greencroft Goshen. She was born December 29, 1934 in Plain City, Ohio to Roman and Anna (Slabaugh) Miller. She married Wilmer Hartman July 15, 1956. They were married 57 years. She is survived by her husband and her four daughters, Marcia Weaver and Evie (Dan) Nafziger, both of Goshen, Rachel (Todd) Miller of Garfield Heights, Ohio, and Lori (Steve) Hartman-Keiser of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; her sister, Carol (David) Garber of Scottdale, Pennsylvania; and 12 grandchildren. Lois was a teacher at Central Christian High School, Kidron, Ohio and a co-pastor with Wilmer at Central Mennonite Church, Archbold, Ohio and at Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church, Garden City, Missouri, before retiring to Goshen. She also led tours of Switzerland and the Holy Land with Wilmer. Lois was a pioneer for women's leadership in church. She loved her children and grandchildren, singing, laughing, cooking, and crossword puzzles. Visitation will be Saturday, October 5 from 3-6 p.m. in The Meetinghouse at Greencroft Goshen. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 6 at 3 p.m. at Berkey Avenue Mennonite Fellowship. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Christian Schools or MDC Goldenrod.
