Lois E. Bradford, 92, of Goshen, died Tuesday morning, January 25, 2011, at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born August 28, 1918 in Benton to the late Edward Geary and Mabel (Sarjent) Scott. On June 19, 1942 she married Joseph Miles Bradford in Hattisburg, Mississippi while he was an officer with the Corps of Engineers during WWII. He died April 2, 1972. Surviving are two sons, Bentley Scott Bradford and Scott William (Elta) Bradford, both of Goshen; a daughter, Trudy Lynn Boergert of Mentor, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Scott Reeder of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen E. Bradford and a brother, Wilbur Scott. A 1936 graduate of New Paris High School, she lived in this area all of her life. She was a co-owner of the former Bradford’s Grocery in Goshen. An active and dedicated member of First Baptist Church since 1970 she was part of the Women’s Missionary Fellowship of the church and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 28, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. A 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011, funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church. Pastors Gregg Lanzen and James Shrock will officiate. Burial will be at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church.
