Lloyd G. Leinbach, 90, of Goshen and formerly of CR 38, died Sunday evening, December 4, 2011, at Greencroft Healthcare where he had been since September 2010. He was born in Alberta, Canada, to the late Noah and Minnie (Holderbaum) Leinbach. He married Gladys Stichter November 11, 1945 at the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, L. Glenn (Vera) Leinbach of Elkhart, and Carl (Dove) Leinbach of Goshen; two daughters, JoAnn (Richard) Schrock of Goshen, and Ruth Bolden of Sandy, Oregon; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Fern Yontz, Irma Shank and Betty Herendeen, all of Goshen; and two half brothers, Gerald Leinbach of Hesston, Kansas and Russell Leinbach of Virginia. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Walter and Louida Mishler; and three brothers, Maurice, Kenneth and Noah Jr. Leinbach. A carpenter, Mr. Leinbach worked 11 years for ChemCraft, Elkhart until his retirement in 1987. He had also worked for NIBCO and as a cook at Sideboard Restaurant, Elkhart, and many other restaurants. He served as sexton for Yellow Creek Cemetery for 20 years. He did Civilian Public Service from Dec. 1942 to May 1946 at Marrietta, Ohio, North Fork, Calif. and Union Grove, Wis. He enjoyed crocheting afghans and snowflake doilies; and woodworking, making toys, jewelry boxes and gifts for the kids and grandkids and Indiana Michigan Mennonite Relief Sale. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 8, in the Fellowship Hall, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m., Friday, December 9, 2011, funeral service at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, Goshen. Pastor Wes Bontreger will officiate. Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery, Goshen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Yellow Creek Mennonite Church or Yellow Creek MDS.
