Linea Yvonne Geiser, 73 of Goshen died at 5:00 a.m. Thursday, February, 4, 2010 at her home. She was born to John H.W. and Anna (Toews) Reimer on June 3, 1936 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She married Leonard R. Geiser in Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada on August 17, 1956. He survives. After graduating from Goshen College Linea was an elementary school teacher with the Orrville, Ohio public schools. She also wrote educational materials for the Mennonite Publishing House. After moving to the Goshen area she received her Master of Divinity from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Elkhart. She worked for Mennonite Mission Network for ten years as a church relations writer specializing in mission education and prayer ministry. She was an active member of College Mennonite church, teaching children and adult education classes, and serving as an Elder. Throughout her life Linea enjoyed and wrote poetry, publishing a book of poems in 2003. She loved her flower garden. The family expresses appreciation to the Goshen Hospital Center for Cancer Care and Care at Home Hospice Services, for their gentle and professional care of Linea. She is survived by one daughter, Erin Geiser of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two sons, Jonathan (Toni) Geiser of Goshen and Ned (Marie Harnish) Geiser of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Atlee and Haven Schrock, Nathan, Hannah, Luke, Indigo and Devon Geiser; five sisters, Naomi Lepp, Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada, Elizabeth Bartel, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, Wendy Rempel, Eugene, Oregon, Martini Janz, Goshen, Hildie Terry, Little Rock, Arkansas. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, February 7, 2010 in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church. An 11:00 a.m., February 8, 2010 Memorial Service at College Mennonite Chruch will follow a private family burial service. Pastor Klaudia Smucker will officiate. Memorials may be given to the College Mennonite Church Jubilee Fund or Mennonite Central Committee Aid for Haiti.
