Lindsay Leigh Whitehead, 37, of Goshen, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, after a brief illness, and is now in God's loving arms. She was born March 8, 1976 in Elkhart. On August 28, 2010 she married Cory Ray Whitehead, in Elkhart. He survives along with two sons, Adam Phillip, and Isaac Lee, both at home; her parents, Dan and Cinda (Bontrager) Olinger, of Goshen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Ruth Whitehead, of New Paris; grandparents, Maurice and Frances Bontrager, of Goshen, and Edward and Eleanor Olinger, of Elkhart; a sister, Lisa (Mike) Woods, of Elkhart; a brother, Luke (Lindsey) Olinger, of Kingsland, Georgia; and 12 nieces and nephews. Lindsay was a 1994 graduate of Concord High School, and attended Ivy Tech, taking nursing courses. She worked for two years at Yellow Creek Day Care, Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, as an assistant director. She was a member of LifePoint Church, where she was active in a small group, and children's programs. A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2013, at LifePoint Church, 1006 S. 16th St., Goshen. Pastor Troy Scott will officiate. A meal will be served following the celebration for all who can attend. Her body will be cremated at Yoder-Culp Crematory and burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to the "Benefit for Lindsay Whitehead Fund" through Interra Credit Union.
