Lindel R. Buckles

Lindel R. Buckles, 89, of Syracuse, died Tuesday evening, January 9, 2007, at Miller’s Merry Manor.   She was born December 5, 1917, in Miami County, Indiana.  She was adopted by the late Clarence and Bessie (Haines) Stitsworth.  On August 21, 1937 she married Edgar E. Buckles.  He died August 4, 1974.   A Wolf Lake High School graduate, Mrs. Buckles retired in the late 1980’s as personnel director from Goshen General Hospital. She had also worked as an executive secretary at the hospital.    She was a member of the Eastern Star of Andrews, Indiana, and the Goshen Hospital Auxiliary.   She is survived by two sons, Terry Buckles of Battle Creek, Michigan, and Jan Buckles of Indianapolis, Indiana; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.   There will be no visitation and no public services.   The body will be cremated and ashes interred at a later date in Stringtown Cemetery near Wolf Lake, Indiana.
