Linda Rouch (Wilson), 74, of Goshen, died at home on October 11, 2021.
Linda was born September 25, 1947, in Kokomo. She grew up in Galveston on her family’s farm with her parents Harley and Lucille (Thompson) Wilson and siblings. Growing up, Linda was active in the Galveston United Methodist Church, 4-H, and Indiana Rural Youth.
Linda married David Rouch August 10, 1975, and they have two children, Rebekah (Mike) Hazekamp of Hackettstown, New Jersey, and Bethany Rouch of Cincinnati, Ohio. She loved to travel, especially to visit family including long trips to New Jersey with her grandchildren (Kaylee and Alex) and two trips to Scotland with her sister Mary Lou. She had also recently begun planning additional trips with her sister-in-law Deanna Vest.
Linda had a love for the outdoors and gardening and enjoyed working in her own gardens as well as visiting places such as the Wellfield Botanic Garden. She had begun to pass on her love of gardening to her granddaughter and that love lives on through Kaylee. Kaylee always looked forward to helping her Ama refill the bird feeders and watching the birds on her visits. Linda loved to read and spent many hours reading any and all books to her grandchildren. She loved to spend time with all her friends and family and was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She had a love for music from an early age and was a member of Trinity Lutheran’s choir for many years. Linda was also a Stephen Minister and served in many other volunteer capacities as an active member at Trinity Lutheran Church. She had a love for Christ that was evident to all around her and was an inspiration to many.
Linda worked for many years as a consultant for Creative Memories, teaching others how to preserve photos into enjoyable scrapbooks. Linda loved to take photos and capture special moments. She enjoyed her work with continuing education and providing faculty support. She retired from Goshen College in 2015.
Surviving family include her children, her grandchildren Kaylee and Alex Hazekamp, her siblings Carol (Gene) Swank, Max (Pam) Wilson, Mary Lou (Hal) White, sister-in-law, Barb Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers, Charles, Tom and David Wilson.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, October 17, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 30888 C.R. 6, Elkhart,, where a 4 p.m. funeral service will be held.
Burial will be at 11:00a.m. on Monday, October 18th at Galveston Cemetery.
