Lina Belle Hoogenboom, 93, Goshen, died Sunday, January 7, 2018 at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. She had been in failing health the past month.
She was born March 30, 1924 in Millersburg to William and Elizabeth Pauline (Holdeman) Vance.
On June 5, 1942 she married Bastion “BG” Hoogenboom in Millersburg. He died February 20, 2013.
Survivors include two daughters, Victoria A. (Delaine) Barhydt of Millersburg and Cindy (Hector) Rios of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sons, Ron (Josie) Hoogenboom of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Roger K. (Sue) Hoogenboom of Elkhart, nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Asher Ray Myers, three brothers, Charles, Henry and Kenneth Vance; a sister, Catherine Wysong and two half-sisters, Elizabeth Elder and Naomi Grissom.
A member of Greene Road Church, Mrs. Hoogenboom graduated from Millersburg High School in 1942. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and a former member of the Goshen Home Economics Club.
She worked at the Goshen Middle School cafeteria for 21 years. She had also worked at Penn Electric and Bowers Manufacturing.
Friends may call Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Dave Van Der Wiele will officiate.
Burial will follow in Benton Lutheran Cemetery, Benton.
Memorials may be given to Greene Road Church.
