Lewis R. Moore

Lewis Moore, 85, of Goshen, passed away Tuesday evening, June 30, 2015, at home, holding the hands of his two favorite ladies, his wife and daughter. He was born April 19, 1930 in Handshoe, Kentucky to Kelly and Oma (Jones) Moore. On February 17, 1968 he married Coral S. Wellman of Ligonier. She survives along with two daughters, Angela (Craig) Stutzman of Elkhart and Ann Pollock and grandchildren, Greg and Dewayne, of Oregon; six grandchildren and a brother Clyde (Rosie) Moore of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Ray in June 1985; three infant siblings; a sister, Liza Terry and three brothers, James, Edward and Pearl Moore. Lewis loved spending time with his grandchildren, Monica, James, Tyler, Todd, Garrett and Colton Ray Stutzman. They were the highlight of his life. He retired from Dairy Farm Products in November 1992. Following his retirement he was an entrepreneur in his own right. He love working with wood and enjoyed going to garage sales and finding something that maybe only needed a screw, a nail, some glue and a little sanding (Lewis' TLC) to repair. Once good as new, he would resell it out of his garage. Word soon got out that if it could be fixed, Lewis could fix it. He also enjoyed bowling with family and friends in his younger days. He was an unbeatable euchre player. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the noon funeral service on Friday, July 3, 2015 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Dr. Gregg Lanzen will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
