Lewis Graber, 89, of Goshen, passed away at his home Thursday evening, January 8, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was born July 14, 1925 in Daviess County to Levi and Lydia (Wagler) Graber. On July 30, 1949 he married Wilma Yutzy in Arthur, Illinois. She died September 9, 2004. On August 25, 2007 he married Emma (Eash) Nisley. She died January 17, 2011. Survivors include three daughters, LaVonne Ernst of Goshen, Nancy Hershberger of Jacksonville, Florida and Deloris (Bill) Hoover of New Paris; three sons, Vernon (Connie) Graber of Goshen, Kevin (Donna) Graber of Elkhart and George (Kenlyn) Graber of New Paris; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (Mel) Swartzentruber of Indianapolis and Nancy (Ora) Witmer of Odon; and four brothers, Elmer (Ann) Graber of Goshen, and Ezra Graber of Loogootee, Jacob (Tillie) and Arthur (Sarah) Graber, both of Kokomo. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives; a son, Curt; a brother, Mahlon and four sisters, Elizabeth Stoll, Adline Richer, Corrine Wagler and Rosanna Kemp. Mr. Graber moved to Goshen in 1971 from Daviess County where he had farmed. In Goshen he worked as a plumber for Liberty Home for 21 years until retiring in 1992. After retirement he worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart for 15 years. He was a member of New Paris Missionary Church. He enjoyed his grandchildren, playing bingo at the Salvation Army and gardening. Friends may call Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 10 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2015 funeral service at New Paris Missionary Church. Pastor Dave Hackney will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to New Paris Missionary Church or Center for Hospice Care.
