Leveta Vandiepenbos

LeVeta VanDiepenbos LeVeta VanDiepenbos, 98, of Goshen, died Saturday evening, June 24, 2006, at Greencroft Healthcare.   She was born July 8, 1907, in Elkhart County, to Norman and Evalena (Stouder) Swoveland.  On October 24, 1931, in Goshen, she married Hessel VanDiepenbos.  He died September 27, 1980.   A farm wife, Mrs. VanDiepenbos, also worked at the former Bag Factory, the Newberry Dime Store and at Goshen Rubber for more than 20 years.   A member of the Greene Road Church, she enjoyed cooking, crocheting and traveling.   She is survived by a daughter, Evelyn (Bill) Koruna of Westerville, Ohio; a son, Mearl (Mary) VanDiepenbos of Jenison, Michigan; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by two sisters, Estelle Lemon of Columbia City, Indiana, and Marceil Drake of Roanoke, Indiana; and a sister-in-law, Betty Swoveland of Muskegon, Michigan.   She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Frederick “Fritz” VanDiepenbos; a sister, Wilma Bartlett; and three brothers, Harry, Gerald, and Oscar Swoveland.   Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, at the funeral home.   An 11 a.m. funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. John Wanders of the Greene Road Church, Goshen will officiate.   Burial will be in Whitehead Cemetery, New Paris.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Greene Road Church or to the Greencroft Foundation.
