Lester S. Yoder, 76, of Goshen and Sarasota, died Friday morning, April 25, 2014, at Tidewell Hospice House in Sarasota. He was born October 27, 1937 in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Sol and Sarah (Stutzman) Yoder. On April 30, 1960 he married Lucy Weirich. She survives along with three children, Brenda (Aaron) Wilkinson, Lori (Kendel) Martin and Neal (Sarah) Yoder, all of Goshen; seven grandchildren, Sara (David) Stump, Emily (Brandon) Denning, Tim Nisley, Peter (Jessica Schirch) Martin, Andrew Martin, Madison Fry and Carson Yoder; and five great grandchildren, Jackson, Hannah and Henry Stump and Maddy and Mila Denning. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Vernon Yoder. A member of North Goshen Mennonite Church, Mr. Yoder volunteered with Loveway. He retired from Bayer Corporation after 38 years. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 6:30 p.m. memorial service will be conducted on Friday, May 9, 2014, at North Goshen Mennonite Church. Burial of cremated remains will be at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to North Goshen Mennonite Church or Tidewell Hospice, Sarasota.
