Lester Brubaker Bauman

Lester Brubaker Bauman, 86, of Goshen, died Sunday, December 9, 2018, at Green House Village.

He was born October 11, 1932 in Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada, to Henry and Rebecca (Brubaker) Bauman.

On June 8, 1957 he married Carol Bauman in Ontario.  She died September 7, 2017.

Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte (Ritch) Hochstetler of Elkhart and Phyllis (Kenton) Bontrager of Reistertown, Maryland; three grandchildren, Leslie (Tyler) Huston, Austin Hochstetler and Ian Bontrager and three great-grandchildren, Emma, Wyatt and Laney Huston.

Along with his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by a brother, Orton Bauman and a sister, Clara Groff.

Lester was a servant, serving the church for more than 50 years as a pastor in Canada and New York state.  He was a member of Waterford Mennonite Church where he served on the pastoral visitation team.  Before his illness he enjoyed special times with family, reading and watching sports, especially hockey.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 15, 2018, from 2:30 p.m. until the 3:30 p.m., memorial service at Waterford Mennonite Church.

Memorial gifts may be given to Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Elkhart.
