Leroy Albert Cox

Leroy Albert Cox, 73, of Elkhart and formerly of Goshen, died Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born July 11, 1946 in West Chester, Pennsylvania to Joseph L. and Ruth E. (Bernard) Cox.

On August 18, 2003, he married Clara (Heverin) Simpler.  She died April 7, 2013.

Survivors include children: Dawn Smith, Marny Ferguson, Jennifer Cox, Tammy Owens, Matthew Drake and Roxanne Roberts; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two brothers, James and David Cox.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Cox and six siblings.

A Goshen resident since 2006, Mr. Cox worked at Goshen Die Cutting.  He loved animals - his dogs were his babies.

Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.

Memorial gifts may be given to Elkhart County Humane Society.
