Leonard C. Otis

Leonard C. Otis, 78, of New Paris, died early Wednesday morning, August 8, 2012, at Courtyard Healthcare where he had been two days. He had been seriously ill since April. He was born July 3, 1934 in Branch County, Michigan to the late Morris and Mabel (Johnson) Otis. He married Betty Irene Duffield April 20, 1959 in Loveland, Colorado. She survives along with a daughter, Katrina Otis of Elkhart and a son, Steve Otis of Goshen. A New Paris resident since 1966, Mr. Otis, along with his wife, operated a dairy farm for more than 25 years. Following his retirement he bred Belgian draft horses. He was a member of the New Paris Church of the Brethren. A 9:30 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2012, graveside service will be conducted at Baintertown Cemetery. Pastor Stan Godfrey, New Paris Church of the Brethren, will officiate.
