Leona Marie Carder

Leona Marie Carder, 86, of New Paris, died Saturday morning, October 31, 2009, at Goshen General Hospital where she had been since Wednesday. She was born on September 27, 1923 in Fairview, Kansas, to James and Lola (McNary) DeBusk.  She married Raymond Wesley Carder on November 21, 1946.  He preceded her in death on March 1, 2003. A New Paris resident since 2005, Mrs. Carder was a homemaker.  She was a member of the Good News Assembly of God in Falls City, Nebraska.  She enjoyed growing flowers. She is survived by two daughters, Sylvia Carder of Chilhowee, Missouri, and Beverly (Ted) Schowengerdt of New Paris, Indiana; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Gary (Sharon) DeBusk of Springfield, Missouri and Larry (Carole) DeBusk of Falls City, Nebraska. Friends may call 3 to 5 p.m., Monday, November 2, at the New Paris First Brethren Church where a 6:00 p.m., funeral service will be conducted by son-in-law, Pastor Ted Schowengerdt. Friends may also call 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 5, at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home in Falls City, Nebraska.  A 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 6, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home.  Pastor Ted Schowengerdt will officiate. Burial will follow in Hiawatha Cemetery, Hiawatha, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Paris First Brethren Church Food Pantry.
