Lawrence "Tubby Walsh, 78, of Goshen, died early Friday afternoon, March 7, 2008, at Goshen General Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Noble County, Indiana, to Olen and Helen (Treesh) Walsh, on January 20, 1930. He married N. Joan Strauss on March 16, 1966, in Goshen. She survives. Mr. Walsh graduated from Flint School in Angola. He was a cabinet maker and retired from Coachmen Industries where he had worked for 27 years. He was a member of the St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Goshen and a 50 year member of the VFW Post 7205 and American Legion Post 31 in Angola. He enjoyed fishing and making miniature wooden toys. He is survived by his wife, Joan, a niece, Patricia Dennis of Mt. Washington, Kentucky; and a brother, Donald (Joan) Walsh of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Walsh in World War II and Floyd E. Walsh. Friends may call 3 to 8 p.m., Sunday, March 9 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, March 10 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Goshen. An 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2008, funeral service will be held at St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Pastor Tim Terrell of St. Mark's and retired Lutheran minister, Rev. Richard Dunning will officiate. Burial will be in Flint Cemetery in Angola at 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 10. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
