Lawrence S. Daniels, 81, of Topeka, died early Saturday afternoon, April 20, 2013 at the Center for Hospice, Elkhart. He was born July 31, 1931 in Noble County, to Emmett and Lulia (Hobbs) Daniels. On January 13, 1967, he married Elizabeth (Whirledge) Schrock in Covington, Kentucky. He is survived by two step-sons, Philip (Sheryl) Schrock, of South Bend, and Dennis (Arlene) Schrock, of St. Charles, Illinois; five grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brian) Misenar, Colette (William) Johnson, Bradley (Linda) Schrock, Matthew (Teresa) Schrock, and Daniel (Laura) Schrock; and nine great-grandchildren, Lily and Everly Misenar, Grace, William, and Lexie Johnson, and Breanne, Ashley, Gabrielle, and Thomas Schrock. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brothers and sisters. Mr. Daniels was a lifelong area resident after serving with the US Army. He was an insurance salesman and farmer. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Fish Lake. Most recently he had been attending St. Peters Lutheran. There will be a 1 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, Memorial service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Bill Johnson, husband of Lawrence's granddaughter, will officiate. Cremation will take place with a private family burial later at Eden cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Millersburg.
