Lawrence E. Beer, 90, of Goshen, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Greencroft Healthcare.
He was born May 18, 1926 in Milford to Otto and Barbara (Graff) Beer, Sr.
On February 14, 1945 he married Fern L. Rich in Wakarusa. She died May 5, 2012.
Survivors include four daughters, Deanna (Wayne “Hap”) Snider, Pamela (Clayton) Koher and Elaine (John) Weyenberg, all of Goshen and Angela (Brian) Keller of Antioch, California; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Harlan Beer, Lorene Mikel and Evelyn Beer, all of Nappanee, Barb Meyer of Goshen and Bill (Evelyn) Beer of New Paris.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Garrett Rich Weyenberg and three brothers, Harold, Eldon and Rev. Otto Beer, Jr.
Mr. Beer served with the U.S. Army during World War II. For 37 years he hauled milk and served as president of the Milk Haulers Association. He was also a licensed realtor and owned Beer Realtors. As a licensed security agent he served as regional vice president for Primerica.
He was a member of Living Gospel Church, Nappanee and enjoyed piloting his own plane.
Friends may call Thursday, April 13, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11 a.m., Friday, April 14, 2017, funeral service will be conducted. Pastors Mike Raasch and Dave Soliday of Living Gospel Church will officiate.
Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery.
