LaVeta F. Weaver, 89, of Elkhart and formerly of Goshen, died Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Hubbard Hill Estates.
She was born March 6, 1929 in Elkhart County to Henry and Ida Lechlitner.
On May 23, 1947 she married Eugene F. Weaver in Nappanee. He died October 24, 2002.
Survivors include daughters, Susan (Jay) Anderson of DeLand, Florida and Marsha Taylor of Bristol; son, Douglas (Sherry) Weaver of Goshen; three grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; sister, Treva Shidler of Goshen; and sisters-in-law, Betty Lechlitner of Elkhart and Velda Lechlitner of Goshen.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Florence Russell and Erma Lechlitner, and brothers, Floyd, Walter, Kenneth and Lowell Lechlitner.
She graduated from New Paris High School in 1947. Along with raising her family she worked at CTS, Elkhart.
In retirement, LaVeta and Eugene enjoyed planning bus tours to Alaska and Canada.
She was a long-time member at Beulah Missionary Church, Elkhart, and an associate member of Union Congregational, Avon Park, Florida.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 21, 2018 one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service at Hubbard Hill Chapel, 28070 C.R. 24, Elkhart. Chaplain Tim Henke will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorial gifts may be directed to Southern Care Hospice.
