Lavern Nisley

LaVern Nisley, 70, of Goshen died Friday, February 2, 2024 at his home.

He was born on his father’s birthday, August 17, 1953 in Goshen to Ora and Ada (Graber) Nisley.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy S. (Miller); a son, Luke (Elisabeth) Nisley of Westfield and their children, Mia and Alston; a stepdaughter, Casey (Kare) Andersen of Goshen and their children, Maiah, Mackenzie, Olivia and Nicholas; three sisters, Elsie (Samuel) Bontrager, LeAnna (Samuel J.) Bontrager, Miriam (Laverne) Bontrager; sister in law, Loretta Nisley; and six brothers, Merv (Linda), Larry (Jennifer), Ora Jr. (Irene), Marlin (Elma), Marion (Ruby), and Vernon (Katie) Nisley.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Elroy Nisley.

Mr. Nisley owned and operated Nisley Concrete, Inc. until his retirement.

He was hard working, hospitable and a man of quiet faith.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 7, beginning at 11 a.m. prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Sandra Miller will officiate.

Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Yoder-Culp Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
