LaVerda Sue (Schrock) Simmons, 83, of Goshen, Indiana, passed away peacefully on

April 5, 2026, at the Brickyard Care Center in Elkhart.

She was born on September 24, 1942, in Plain City, Ohio to Rueben and Anna (Yoder)

Schrock.

LaVerda is lovingly remembered by her children, Scott Miller of Goshen, Indiana, and

Sheila (Greg) Andrea of Marion, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is

also survived by her siblings, John (Leanna) Schrock of Middlebury, Norma (Bob)

Gregory of Bristol, Harold “Bud” Schrock, and Rich Reider of Denver Colorado.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Marvin Schrock.

LaVerda worked as a bank teller for many years, where she was known for her friendly

smile and dedication. She spent 30 years living in Bradenton, Florida, a place she

dearly loved. She enjoyed walking on the beach and taking in the beauty around her.

She found joy in life’s simple moments, especially those shared by her family.

LaVerda will be remembered for her witty sense of humor and fun-loving spirit. She

enjoyed reading, playing card games and was an avid racing fan. Her faith gave her

quiet strength, and she extended kindness and helpfulness to others. Her love for her

family was at the center of her life, and she leaves behind many cherished memories

that will be held close by those who knew and loved her.

Private family services will be held, with burial at Clinton Brick Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimer’s research.

Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
